Did you know that Islam is the official religion in 26 countries around the world? That includes Asian, African, and Middle-Eastern countries. Fortunately, that gives us hijabis a plethora of hijab styles to choose from!
There are African turbans, Asian Amiras, and Arabic-style hijabs. Today, we’ll show you how to wrap a hijab Arabic style with little to no hassle.
How to Wrap a Hijab in Arabic Style
There isn’t only one Arabic style for hijab. On the contrary, there are plenty of different styles that you can try out, thanks to the variety of Arabic countries and their traditions.
Here are five easy ways to wrap a hijab in the famous Arabic style.

#1 Classic Wrap
The classic Arabic wrap is a timeless trendsetter. It’s basically the longest-living trend in the hijab world! You can style it with a dress, a skirt and a top, or a pair of pants and a pullover. It’s a versatile look that looks good on different outfits.
Here’s how to wrap it:
- Grab your scarf and hold it over your head, so that one side is longer than the other.
- Secure the two sides right under your chin using a pin
- Hold the longer side and cross it over your head until it reaches the other side. Pin it above your ear to secure it, and if you want extra security, you can add a pin at the top of your head.
- Grab the short side and tuck it inside your clothes, leaving the long side draping down your shoulder.
#2 Loose Wrap
The loose wrap is the trendiest of them all. It seems to be pretty popular not only in the Arabic world but globally as well. You can style it with a pair of dangling earrings for an extra trendy touch:
- Wear a hijab cap, making sure to tuck your hair inside it securely.
- Position your hijab around your face, letting one side be longer than the other. Don’t pull it tightly around your face because we want to achieve that loose look.
- Hold the shorter side and tuck it inside your shirt, smoothening it out to prevent a bulky look.
- Grab the long side and cross it to your shoulder, draping it over your back and leaving it loose around your face. If you want to secure it, you can pin it on your shoulder.
#3 Arabian Draping Wrap
The Arabian draping wrap is stunning, to say the least. It’s a nice change from classic looks, and it might look good with a pair of dangling earrings. Here’s how to wrap it:
- Wear your hijab cap or under-scarf, making sure to tuck all your hair inside.
- Grab your scarf and position it so that the hijab’s narrow side is around your face and the long side is draping backward.
- Wrap the two sides back around your neck, and tie them right under your hair bun.
- Grab the long side that’s draping down your back and move it to your side, right or left.
- Hold its edge and wrap it around your head til it reaches the other side, making sure to drape the fabric on your neck rather than pull it tight.
- Pin the edge behind your ear. You can show your earlobe in this step and wear a dangling earring for an Arabian touch.
#4 Saudi Wrap
If you want to try something new, you can always go for a Saudi wrap. Saudi women wrap the hijab around their heads and use it to cover their faces, only letting their eyes show. It’s an uncommon style in many countries, but it’s popular in Saudi Arabia, and it’s called a niqab.
Here’s how to wrap an Arabian Saudi hijab:
- Wear your hijab cap making sure to cover all your hair underneath.
- Hold the hijab over your head so that both sides are equal in length, then fold its edge inwards where it meets your forehead.
- On your right side, grab the scarf’s edge that’s close to your neck and raise it to level with your eyes, then pin it to the hijab cap. Now, the hijab’s two edges should be draping down the side of your face right next to each other.
- Grab the edge that you just pinned and cross it over your face to the other side, covering your face in the process from under your eyes.
- Pin the edge to your hijab cap.
- Grab the other side of the hijab that you didn’t touch and drape it across your neck to the other side, then pin it at the top of your head. Or, if it’s long enough to reach the side of your head, pin it there.
#5 Bedouin Style
If you’re in for a change from your regular hijab style, why don’t you go for a Bedouin-style hijab? It’s Arabic, it’s unique, and most importantly, it’s pretty easy to wrap. However, you’ll need a bandana for it.
Here’s how to wrap it:
- Grab your scarf and position it over your head so that both sides are equal in length.
- Grab your square bandana and fold it in half, then position it on your head so that both sides are facing the back of your head.
- Tie the two sides in a knot at the back of your head.
- Hold the two sides of your hijab and drape them over your back, and voila! Your look is ready.
If you prefer to cover your neck with the hijab, or if you’re not wearing a high-collar blouse, you can always drape one side of the hijab across your neck.
