To Live a Meaningful Life

We often wonder whether we’re having a meaningful life or not, and with everything running so fast around us, we mistake life for everything that it’s not. So what does it really mean to have a fulfilling life?

The first question to ask ourselves is “what am I devoting myself to? “What consumes my time and thoughts the most?”

Is it the next car? The next purchase? The fancy restaurant? And everything that I want to own? As much as we can never deny their importance, but we should beware getting consumed in materialism.

Because let’s face it, at the core of this running, is an innate need to fill a void inside us, so we keep running and looking at all the wrong places to fill something inside that’s only meant to be filled by love and deeper notions.

Try devoting your time and yourself to everything that matters to you, your close friends and family, your favorite hobby, or maybe a charity work. Spend time with your people and tell them stories and laugh together. Devote yourself to your relationship with God and let it fulfill your heart. It’s there where you feel the belonging that you’re dearly hoping for.

Years and years from now, your older self will thank you, because you won’t be storytelling about the car, the house, the job and the purchases.

Instead, you’ll be storytelling about everything that touched your heart and made your soul expand. You’ll be telling about all the quality time you spent with you friends, and what you did to invest in yourself to be the best version you can be.

This will be your story. That will be your legacy. Start writing it now, and make it count.
